Reduce Tension and Strain with Better Home Office Set-up

By placing items and furniture in the right place, you can reduce or even eliminate the tension and strain you are causing yourself  in your home office.  Your home office is part of your personal space, so make it comfortable and healthy.

 

  • Reduce strain from twisting and turning in awkward positions by evaluating where you have placed the equipment and items on your desk. 
  • If you use it move it. The rule is to keep things you use regularly in an arms length location.
  • Your keyboard should be located directly in front of you while you maintain a distance of at least 20 inches from your monitor. If you have to angle your hands or forearms, you need adjust the height of your keyboard.  
  • Your chair should allow for easy access to all items in a flowing motion. There should be no twisting your body or arms to reach items or equipment anymore. 
  • You also want to make sure your feet can rest flat on the floor while holding your posture. 

 

These simple changes can make a world of difference. Reducing the tension and strains can be only a good thing.
