What Is The Correct Height For Your Keyboard?
- Adjust your chair to the correct height (so it makes contact behind the thighs, but isn't trying to lift your heels off the floor).
- With your arms next to your body, extend you hands out in front of you with your forearm parallel to the floor.
- The top of your keyboard should be at the same height as the bottom of your forearms. This will insure your wrist are kept straight while keying.
- Also, a common ergonomic mistake to avoid is: don't use the flip-up legs under the back of the keyboard. This causes you to key with your wrist bent back toward your body, and this wrist position places you at much higher of risk of developing carpal tunnel syndrome.
